These tests are usually performed in-situ (on trial pit walls etc.) to get a quick indication of the shear strength. Geolabs provides only laboratory based testing and so cannot perform these tests in-situ. The laboratory vane test is a more controlled version of the test more suited to undisturbed samples in the laboratory. If required we can perform hand vane tests in the laboratory (with the same material requirements as the laboratory vane) but this is not a BS1377 test. | |
